Padukka Police said that the bodies of two persons who were shot dead were found in a land of Wendesiwatta, Thunnana, Padukka.
The police also said that it is suspected that some people shot dead and fled while in the cab.
K D Rohan Indika alias ‘Manna Roshan’, a resident of Hanwella Niripola, who is said to be a member of an organized crime gang, and Supun Nimesh, a 30-year-old man who was engaged in orange trading, have been killed.
The two had come to wendesiwatta in Thunnana area for a drug deal and the shooting took place at that time, police said.
The police mentioned that they had come to the area to get the related drugs from Lalith Kannangara, who is currently in Dubai.
It is suspected that Mr. Lalith Kannangara was given money for that purpose, and the police suspect that these killings took place under his direction.
Investigations are being conducted under the supervision of Deputy Inspector General of Police Gayanga Marapana in charge of Western Province Southern District regarding the related incident.
