Electricity has been switched off at Bambalapitiya railway station.
It is reported that electricity has been switched off at the railway station due to non-payment of electricity bills.
The work of the station has been maintained with bottle lamps and other aids for about two days without electricity.
Due to this, it is reported that the staff including the station masters as well as the passengers using the train have been put in a lot of trouble.
A spokesman said that due to the power cut, announcements will not be made at the Bambalapitiya railway station.
